There are a number of telltales that give the car away, but the most obvious is that it's not a short wheelbase car! The dash is clearly from the late 70s/early 80s, and would be a real chore to transplant to a SWB car. And that's just from a glance.
As for what the real VIN is, as the commenters have said, there's a number under the knee pad that has the original VIN stamped in. Given how ham-handed the subterfuge is, you could almost guarantee it's still there.
