The truth is you have to pay for a quality hose. Fourteen years ago I bought a few hoses at Walmart. They had the usual selection, and also had some that were noticeably more expensive 9may6be three times) and just looked and felt like some sort of black rubber. I decided to spring for the extra cost and have been using them ever since. I've gotten several different hoses from H.D., Lowes, & Costco over the years too as additional hoses. They've all died, but the old black ones I paid extra for from Walmart are still looking and performing great, and are very kink resistant.
