It was offset a little to one side. I had to elongate the hole slightly in the sensor mount so that it could be rotated in the distributor mounting hole. Also, don't forget to make sure you have a sensor gap of approx 1mm. (no more)

Hey Mike, thanks for the heads up. I'll absolutely check this and let you know how I get on. I'm away with work at the moment but will check as soon as I get home. That makes a lot of sense now that you mention it.

The sensor adapter has a threaded 3/8" hole that the crank sensor threads into - is this the hole you elongated or the adapter mounting hole part where the nut goes onto the stud and holds the adapter in place? Appreciate your help as this is giving me a lot grief.
