I made a journey to the city hazardous waste disposal site. I live in NE OKC area, and the disposal site 19 miles away on the near SW side of town. Almost all interstate to get there. For the first time in many years, I made it there and back and there was no road construction!

One big project that finished up in the early spring was a 8 year project to rebuild massive interstate exchange. Then they had worked on several bridges, and resurfacing. This trip, all the way with no construction was almost like cheating.

I got rid of 5 gallons of oil motor oil, two old spray paing cans that were plugged up, a handful of household batteries, like AAA, AA and D cell plus the button battery from the motherboard I replaced the BIOS on. I replaced that battery even though I think it was OK. I know it had been in there for many years. And I also gave them the battery from one of my UPS battery backups, and a mercury vapor UV light for the Koi pond. All safely and properly disposed of. It just cost me the round trip mileage, and the El Camino is pretty cheap per mile after 31 years and 377,000 miles. No mileage depreciation to worry about.

The place I used to get my Kendall motor oil from is on the far SW part of town, and it was 44 miles each way. I started getting my oil from Amazon delivered to my door just to avoid the long trip, and it was a toll road to boot, and the toll was 6 bucks each way.
