I agree with you Erik. PM keeps everything within Pelican, and unless the buyer just has some clarifying questions or wants to negotiate, there’s no need to call. Especially if they say to call someone else. If you don’t like giving out your phone number, then text is out as well.
And the check thing is almost always a scam. The scam is to mail you a check that they will add some amount to ($100-$1500) for their ‘shipper’. They then ask (demand) that you give that difference to whomever they have show up to pick up the item. There are variations.
Just stick with PayPal. I’ve used Zelle and Venmo as well. Not confident with CashApp yet.
