When we had kids here, youngsters, I used a three key combo portable pistol safe (which I still have) that I kept under the bed on my side.
Now I have a thin metal piece of gear that slides under the mattress and has a place to hang your pistol in it’s holster outside the mattress. You grab the holster. Again, single action revolver...it will not go bang unless you want it to.
Don’t hate, it is great.
Back in the safe when young kids are in the house for any reason. Wife’s as well.
