That’s undoubtedly true.
But it’s really true of all car makers.
Look at various makes from 1970 or 1980, Porsche, BMW, Honda, GM, etc. They are all vastly different car in construction, materials, design, performance, etc.
A Porsche or BMW was made in Germany of mostly German parts.
These days, cars have become so standardized and “appliance-ized.” They get parts from the same suppliers and are constructed in the basically the same way, in factories all over the world (the new BMW M2 will all be Hecho en México, for example. A German driving in Germany will be driving a Mexican import BMW).
That’s all good news for the production of transportation vehicles in general, cars are made as cost effectively as possible and are more reliable and efficient than ever.
But there’s not much to differentiate brands anymore.
