Where we live, super rural, our choices are BBQ, Tex-Mex, or Country/American food. I don't even have easy access to Chinese/Asian food around here. But there's a farmers market that we go to from time to time in Houston that has an Indian place that sells cooked/frozen foods. It's awesome. I had some vegetable biryani today (the folks in front of me bought the last chicken biryani). It's the spiciest biryani that I've ever had, but so much flavor!

We had a meeting this morning with a larger group that's got a bunch of folks in India where they had a little Diwali educational presentation. Apparently, a couple of Presidents have attended or sponsored Diwali celebrations, and there is a bill that was submitted in 2021 to make Diwali a national holiday. I'll be surprised if that passes, but it wouldn't bother me (I certainly wouldn't expect it to be multiple days so I'm not sure how that will work). Part of the presentation also mentioned that fireworks are a big part of the celebration which was a detail that I was not aware of (that's not really saying much).
