I love a quality tool, but I am a long way from being a professional mechanic, and I am very happy with my current selection of mostly old Sears and other tools accumulated over the last 50+ years.
Me too...Mostly USA. Mostly Craftsman, but not all.

Looked up USAG. The website I founds touts them as the Italian Snap-on. Griot's garage prices are damned near Snap-on prices, so why not go snap-on? Probably good stuff, but without any hands on? Well, I like to know how a tool will feel in my hand before I buy. Another tip is to take a large hex key, say 15-18 mm, with you to the store to see how tightly the wrench or socket fits. A problem with buying online is you can't do that.

So, to answer the question? Nope, not tempted. I could most likely find a USA made equal to everything posted on that page in my old Craftsman rollaway. Alas, USA Craftsman is no more...for the home wrench, it was pretty hard to beat. There are people out there scouring garage and estate sales, snapping up all the Craftsman USA stuff they can find.

All that said, anybody looking today for a USA Craftsman replacement? I's suggest they try Tekton...Taiwan made, decent quality. I just picked up a set of 1/2" drive six point shallow sockets with rails. Love the twist to remove rails, and the sockets themselves have great fit and finish. Almost jewelry like in the finish. Tekton does make some stuff here in the USA, pliers & Screwdrivers, I think..

(edit) Just did some online price checking. Griots wants $199 for a 17 piece combination metric wrench set from 6-22mm.

Tekton wants $228 for a 19 piece metric set from 6-24 mm...same offsets and angles. Oh, wait...that includes a rack, AND a similar 19 piece set in SAE from 1/4" to 1".
