We've had USAA for over 30 years. When we added our daughter a few years ago Liberty Mutual was cheaper so we switched. USAA is such crap, I had to call in just to cancel, spent half hour on phone with them and they tried to price match. They couldn't and gave me the old, 'but you've been with us for 30 years'. Yeah, price match and I'll stay. Can't do it they replied. So I left.

Then about a year later Liberty raised our premium. No reason given, no claims made. They were not able to reduce it so back to crappy USAA I went.

USAA would still be great if it was still limited to commissioned officers like it was for decades and which was the reason for its founding. They added enlisted about 20 years ago and rates have gone up ever since.

Now USAA has all sorts of TV and other ads, but I'm sure those are free... And that Gronkowski guy, no idea who he is, but I suspect some American sports guy. I'm sure he is endorsing them on commercials for free...
Hells bells, they even sponsor Premier League football from England. Hmmm

You can always tell the long time USAA customers that have never made a claim from long time customers that have made claims or added teenage drivers. The former are very happy simply because all they have to do is send in money. The latter aren't happy because the level of service has taken a nose dive and rates continue to climb due to celebrity endorsement and a pool of insured that are higher risk than under the old business model.

If I had a day to spend finding a different company I would leave them. I won't even get started on that stupid earwig jingle they have.
