I was able to return home, do some research, diagnose that the helper (horseshoe) spring broke and place my order with Pelican. Many thanks to Pelican and all the contributors of these forums, without you I would never have developed the skills to work on my 911.

You may also want to check your needle sleeve bearings (999-201-212-00, 2 req'd) to make sure they're good. I recently had to replace my helper spring and the two bearings were hard and dried up. Good luck!
