WTB a Vacuum brake booster ('78 through '87) for 911
Hi Everyone,
I have a vacuum booster for my 1977 911S, but I think I want to swap it out for the later design. The '77 uses a ball-and-cup that is held together with a circlip and friction. I can see why this is a one-year design. You pull the pedal too far back, and you can disconnect your pedal from your brakes. YIKES! For the '78 year, Porsche introduced a pin-and-clip design that doesn't separate.
Also, '78 and later, they had at least 2 designs/sizes. One was a 217mm version (8.55 inches), and then I think a 9.5 inch sized one.
Does anyone have a working (holds a vacuum and moves back and forth smoothly) brake booster that is a '78 or later (probably up to '87, '88, or '89) that they would want to sell?
Best Regards,
Eric
