mostly just abused dog gears and tired synchros.
The main bearing being loose in the case as standard feature on these.
All of the first/second hardware short of the gears themselves was replaced.
I also made sure that things were torqued to spec, something that was not done before and it seems to be doing well. I do still have a bit of gear whine in 5th but nothing compared to what it was.
