There are times not to go out to the edge of the white line for reference. For example if there is gravel or debris on the edge , or an obvious amount of camber change , this is info telling you not to go there . For the most part on two lane roads , following the outside white line into the turn and judging when to start your turn is very helpful. The geometry of the two lane road just works out that way

I totally had to play this at .25 speed (you can change this in the settings) to wrap my head around what you were saying. Makes total sense. .....and I'll be practicing that with my F-150 all weekend. Hahahaha....
