as i stated in the post that inspired this thread, i build ice racing bolted studded tires. they produce fantastic grip, like 1.0+ lateral G on ice. they are used for ice autocross and racing here in the midwest. I'd been building them for years myself, and decided i didnt have much to do in the october - early january time frame, so i might as well make a few sets for folks and a few bucks on the side.
i have a pretty mechanized system at this point. each stud still needs to be fabricated, and then installed, but ive developed jigs for almost every step so that i can do i fast, accurately, and painlessly.
