Awesome, Denis, I'm glad it was something relatively easy. And Cheap.

My favorite old Rolls story involves a buddy who bought a Silver Cloud about 15 years ago. He hadn't had it long, and it started handling funny. Turns out it had a broken lower a-arm on the right front. He was very concerned at what that was going to cost to repair on his old Rolls.

He very tentatively contacted the dealership in the Seattle area, who said "we'll look at it". He brought it in for an inspection, no more, in hopes of getting an estimate. A week later they call and tell him they could find nothing wrong. "B.S." was his first thought, "they just don't want to deal with it".

So he goes in to pick it up and finds it up on the lift for his inspection. The entire front suspension had been replaced, both sides. He protested "I didn't authorize any repairs", fearing the bill.

Their reply? "We are sorry, sir, but there were no repairs. It's merely been cleaned for inspection. There will be no charge."

"But I saw for myself a broken a-arm!"

"We are sorry sir, but we believe you were mistaken. A Rolls Royce simply does not fail in that manner. Have a nice day."

Unbelievable. Until we stop to consider that everyone buying a new Rolls from them had chipped in on that repair...
