I couldn't tell you, I am sure there are others out there with a bunch more experience than I have, that could tell you the difference.
I can say, don't buy powder coated units, it changes tolerances, and you have to spend a bunch of time cleaning the powder coating off.
But then, I am running .22 conversions in my rifles, so my info is suspect at best.
