If an MD lets his license to practice expire, they are not supposed to use the MD on the end anymore. The MD is the degree you got when you graduated. Just because you no longer practice, it does not mean you never graduated medical school. Can't understand the logic at all.

Similar with CFA designation (Chartered Financial Analyst). If you stop paying dues, you aren’t allowed to call yourself a CFA. Ridiculous.
