On my last flight I picked the aisle seat when I made reservations. I was seated on every flight next to men that likely all played as linebackers in the NFL. They all had shoulders that were wide. None of them were fat, just different random men to sit next to that all had shoulders that made me fly bent over a bit, or if I sat up straight, touching shoulders with a stranger.

I'd rather rub shoulders than be eaten by a blob that's oozing over, under, and around the armrest.
