It was a big no no for officers to fraternize with enlisted at all outside of official business.
In Hawaii the guy that got me into photography was a Staff Sergent and he would swing by our quarters to pick me up to go take pictures at the endless beaches. Dad had to get special permission from the base commander informing the commander that the Sgt. was coming to see me, and not my dad. They would be cordial, and shake hands, and ask the typical how are you today pleasantries.
I noticed while backing into my parking spot in the garage, the left brake light on the El Camino was out. It is 64 degrees now, so I braved the garage temps and with two Torx screws the tail light assembly drops out, and twist the bulb socket, replace the bulb and done. Almost too easy. I of course had a spare bulb "in stock" and done a 5 minutes. Of course I had to clean some leaves stuck in the bumper, and squirt some contact cleaner on the sockets just because I was in there.
The one of the right is the dead bulb. The one on the left is the backup light. I just ordered two of each on Amazon and they will be here later in the week. I have two of the turn signal bulbs already and the running lights.
