One of my uncles was a psychiatrist. After his practice became successful, he bought a 427 '66 Sting Ray new. At some point, he had installed a spigot fitting in the upper radiator hose when I saw the car a few years later. I assume it did the job and gave him adjustability without having to worry about thermostat failure, but I never asked him about it. I didn't know much about cars at the time.
