I keep mine in my back pocket. When I'm driving the Boxster, I take it out and put it in the cubby in front of the shifter. When I'm driving anything else, it stays in my back pocket.
I've got a Dash Bando 2.0 which is a minimalist wallet I've got 8-10 cards in it. It is ~5mm at the edges and 19mm at the thickest part.
