NEW 17” wheels & wide, low-aspect ratio tires:

Took car out this afternoon on twistiest roads I know and thrashed her. Outstanding results, could not be more pleased.

Steering responsiveness: much improved. Quicker response, more precise.

Grip: Noticeable improvement in road cling, car can corner harder without breakaway.

Neutral handling: improved - if possible.

Flatness in hard turns: reduced roll, noticeably so. Stays flatter, yet without harshness that a larger sway bar might have brought.

Ride comfort: Zero reduction in ride comfort. I expected a harsher ride with thinner tire sidewall. None noticeable at all - still great at shock/bump absorption.

Ride noise: My Cayman S with 19” tires/wheels has a lot of road noise. No change on 944 as far as I could tell.

Break-away: intentionally forced car to break loose a few times. Wider thinner tires are even more forgiving with no loss of control, just a totally neutral slide with easy recovery.

CAR IS TRACK READY! or maybe AutoX ready!

TOMORROW: Shock tower strut brace goes in. It has to improve things even more.

Am I a happy 44'er or what?
