'73 and '74 had the flat top SUs which were less desirable than the '70-'72 round top SUs. Many owners either retrofitted the flat tops with round tops.

There was a really sharp full resto '70 240Z that sold yesterday for $165k on BaT. Goes to show that really exceptional cars are still commanding the big premiums.

The days ('80s through early 2000s) when these cars could be had for $5k and less are now long gone.

I suffered through both of those, and while the round tops can be set up to run quite well, they still suck.

Flat tops are hopeless and ought to sacrificed to the gods of lousy engineering at the pit of the nearest active volcano.

I only got satisfaction by converting to Weber DCOE 40mm.....and it transformed the car albeit at somewhat lower fuel economy
