Currently have a '71 and and a 73. 71 is getting restored in between jobs. Hopefully I'll get to the 73 as well before I kick the bucket.

My 74 Porsche 914 2.0 ran fine on the fuels of the day for the first two years. Then the vapor locking started. The fuel pump was factory located right under the battery, next to the heater box air outlet if the heater was no on. I had to move the fuel pump to under the gas tank, and then all was fine, never a vapor lock again. In 75 I believe, the factory delivered the 914s with the fuel pump under the gas tank.
