I thought my car was running hot and was ready to install some kind of external cooler. I found that the engine in my 83 SC was actually an 81SC 3.0. In reading Wayne's 101 book, I read the upgrade tech article and it mentioned that the oil temp sending unit and the gauge must match. If they did not, the reading would be inaccurate. I decided to do the upgrade with the numbers instead of the hash marks.
Today I drove the car hard and found the temp at about the 200 degree range. The car was not running hot as I initially thought, the gauges did not match each other. Good news for me and my P-car, David
