Did you get that welded yet, if you were closer I would do it for you, did a couple years in that industry long ago, usually small stress cracks on much larger tanks.

TIG requires REALLY clean metal and a REALLY pure weld. And it's the absolute worst choice if you just want to glop some filler in there.
And if it's just pot metal, then forget it altogether.
