The problem is that she broke the law (not just there, but here) and knew that she was breaking the law. And good grief, there may be places that you might be willing to risk it, but there are definitely places that you should not. Some places take punishment of crime VERY seriously. She got caught breaking the law and was being punished (she almost certainly could have bribed her way out at the beginning, because that happens in Russia). While, I believe she's one of the folks that kneel during the national anthem, so essentially disrespecting the country, giving the US the middle finger and a big "FU." Then as soon as she got arrested in a foreign country, started whining to the govt, "please help, you've gotta get me outta here." Why should we help her after she did something so stupid and illegal and got caught and after she gave the govt the middle finger? It's got nothing to do with race.

So, the US brokered a deal to trade her for an illegal arms dealer. It was NOT an even trade for us. And my guess is that the arms dealer will be back dealing arms in no time. Great!

Racial? What the heck has this got to do with race? I don't see a single mention of race or color until you say that it was a racial thread, or have I missed something that got edited or deleted? Or are you one of those people that throws the race card out any time you don't like anything?
