I was at my local Meijer a few weeks back and pulled my cc out of my pocket and just had it in my hand about a foot away from the scanner because the lady next to me had asked me a question.

Yeah I'm lucky if my card gets read at all.
All said and done your cards and info will all be gathered the old fashioned way: hackers accessing the databases.
You might be paranoid but this rfid protection stuff is still just dumb.
