If this is the same 'box in question, that serial number has been worn away on the road. Whether intentionally or not is subject to debate, but that large flake taken out of the right side of the boss, inline with the deep groove, is indictive of having been chipped by a fixed object as the transmission passed over it. Given the doubt surrounding the presumed seller it cannot be ruled out that it was worn away while driving the car without torsion bars....
