I reached out to my former service manager at a Volvo dealer. He said "a lot of them," but couldn't recall many specifics. I became aware of this when I had a 1999 S70 a few years ago (I didn't get bit). He recalled the engine wiring harness fails on a lot of them and there is no new ones. Also the tail light assembly printed circuit boards.
I'd suggest talking to shops that work on 240s before taking the plunge.
