Almost got to it. Was literally days from writing the check for a SM plus spares when the chance to be self employed was dropped on me. Alas it's a dream i'll never realize now.

I did get to crew a 12hr endurance race for a SM guy in my area. All volunteer and I loved every second of it. I think we had 3 drivers and when not driving they guys were crewing. Deep pockets and decades of track experience made things run very smooth.

I will say that experience convinced me I was wrong to seek out the coolest car to track and should've just put my time and money into SM or SE30 from the start. The entire experience of racing is just awesome and the car itself is, at least to me, secondary.
