At 56 y/o now, if I’m honest with this board (and myself), I’ve been both guys in Jeff’s story. Thankfully the other guy disappeared after I was about 25, and I do have a wryly-amused “Jeff approach” these days. But I think part of my wisdom today is from having the awareness that the other guy’s archetype does exist; he’s usually quite young and has a chip on his shoulder for unknown reasons, and is capable of some very dumb and inexplicable things.
