Seriously, though, one of the better suggestions on this thread. One I had honestly never considered. And, well, kind of embarrassed about this, but it would take me a moment to find and figure out how to activate the flashers on my various vehicles. I have just never used them.
Isn't that weird? 46 years of driving, hundreds of thousands of miles, and I have never been broken down on the side of the road in any kind of a situation that I have needed them. I guess I've always managed to limp it into a parking lot, or wide pullout, or some other such where I have been well off the shoulder. Lucky me. I've never really thought about that...
Going forward, I'm going to make sure I know right where they are and how to activate them. It admittedly won't be as intuitive as my first reaction as lighting up the brake lights (old dog learning new tricks here), and honestly it could be
years before I ever "need" to do either again, but it's certainly one that I'll be keeping in my hip pocket.
