Nashville 911s

This is a bit fluffy as a post, hence the OT. My partner and I spent NYE at an airbnb on a farm just outside Nashville, same as last year since we enjoyed it so much. On Sunday I was on a bike ride into the city and riding through Bellevue when I saw a guy go by in a red 3.2 Targa. Then yesterday when we stopped at the Loveless Cafe down the road to get some biscuits to take home, just as I was about to leave a 911 pulled in, so my sweetie patiently waited while I walked off to find the guy. This one was a 1986 (I think - later sport seats but small dash vents) M491 cabrio that looked like a grey-market import (rear bumper, rear fog, front fender indicators), red with a yellow-beige full leather interior without even a warped dash. Owner's father had bought it new in the 80s and eventually passed it down to him. Then five minutes later as we were heading to I-40, an IB coupe in what looked like Chiffon White or something similar passed going the other way. That's a lot of 911s for one 24-hour period in the winter. I missed mine (we were in my JSW) and I wished I could have driven mine on some of those roads. The long drive I got to take in the airbnb owners' '71 MGB GT that morning sure made my week, though. Perhaps one of these 911 owners is reading this, in which case I'll say thanks for making me smile. An air-cooled 911 is the car that has done it for me like nothing else since I was three years old, and even though I've had mine for seven years now, I still light up like sunshine when I suddenly see another one on the street.
