Cabin Air Filters
I've got a '14 Cayman with only 36K miles. I decided to change all the air filters as I don't think they have ever been changed. The exterior cabin filter had a slightly dirty, dusty appearance as I would expect. However, the interior filter on the passenger's side of the cabin appeared pristine - it looked exactly like the new replacement filter and did not have the slightest hint of dirt, dust, or discoloration.
Of course, the interior filter has a gray color to start with, so maybe that hides how dirty it is, but it really did look same-as-new. Is this typical? I'm a non-smoker and live and drive in a relatively clean, non-smoggy environment, so I didn't expect it to be very dirty.
The Scot in me says to put the old filter back on the shelf and use it again next time I change the filter, but the "Porschephile" in me says "don't be such a cheapskate and always use a new filter!" LOL!
