Thanks for the offer, but it's at Dave's to get some beefed up rear axles. On the way back from the Andial open house I started to get a clicking from a troubled CV joint. They axles were the originals from the 72, it appeared. They'd done their duty and deserved to retire.
My OT update:
New sump pump from Sears took care of the water. Didn't lose too much stuff.
Laptop is on its way to South Carolina to see what can be saved.
With regard to moving the threads, I probably moved more than I should have. Chalk it up to the stress of dealing with the hot water heater about to float away.
