This way you don't have to disconnect the fuel line up at the FD. That's tight to work and better to just disconnect one fitting at the WUR and put your pressure gauge set in there.

We have been doing this installation for more than a quarter of a century. I started using it in the early 90’s and never like the factory procedure. Most people in this community is using the WUR method rather than @ the FD side. Good you brought it up. It is a better mouse trap than the factory method.
