Think about it - they're either using battery-powered micro amps or running direct into ProTools on a MacBook. All the technology in the world is not going to reproduce the huge and great tone of the original where they used vintage tube amps (then relatively new) cranked to glowing orange with top shelf guitars. I don't know how much post production that live Eagles video got, but I remember seeing it in the early days of MTV, so it was nothing too advanced.
BTW, I have a double neck Epiphone SG, which is the cheaper version of the Gibson Don played. It weighs a ton and the necks actually weigh more than the body, making it always want to slide down and left. Really hate it. But the boss in my band wants use to double necks for one Rush tune they used them on live, trying to make us look more authentic.
