I've solo'd many them over the years and find them exhilarating. Tacking, find the edge, watching the tell-tales, seeking that perfect sail angle, Love that stuff.
Zzero training. Its always felt natural to me being on the water in these craft. Feeling it. Same way I approached racing honestly.
I dont mean to suggest that I enter this blindly. I've spent hundreds of hours looking at the downsides because thats the reality of it. With any endeavor like this, its not about the amazing times at anchorage and a drink in your hand that define the experience - its about how you cope with the bad times - the "adventure" and the challenges that ultimately define how you experience it.
