It's my day for reminding myself of my failings and trying to get some money back for them...
Like a knucklehead I ordered the 2WD SSK for my C4, and then proceeded to get a few steps into the install before I realized my mistake - LOL! (why you will see some marking on the lock-nut). The "important piece" (the rod with the two ball joints) was never mounted.
I ordered the 4WD version right away, but because the other one had been unpacked, I could not return it.
I love the shorter throw! I suggest doing the goldenrod at the same time (this does not come with the Golden Rod, or the oval bushings for pre-'92 cars) - see the FD website for more info on that:

Installation is easy, IMO, did it on jack-stands in under 2 hours. I'd be happy to PM with lessons learned that could save you some time.
