I am currently using a Perfect Tuning gauge in the dash mounted in the clock hole. It is an upgrade from my earlier units.

Here is an example of one I built for a clock years ago. Should be easy to find a display that fits the referenced location. I was running a serial output. That might be easier than CAN to get started.

Killin' me! You are the man behind the curtain. Hahaha... these are cool projects.

I had found some off the shelf solutions, but I was looking for a learning project that was "cheap" and I want a really small form factor that I can blend into the dash. I wasn't interested in losing my clock - just yet, but that might be an option, if I come up short on my arduino atttempt.
