I used to say:
"I don't have a drinking problem.
I drink.
I get drunk.
I fall down.
No problem."
It sounds funny but it was a dangerous problem. I also had a penchant for recreational chemicals of differing varieties (also stopped in 1982).
Needless to say, I would have died a long time ago if I hadn't given those things up.
