Carroll Smith once opined that using locktight on a greasy/oily bolt/thread, only provided a false sense of security.
Exhaust hanger brackets do not require the same focus as rod bolt nuts - consider the potential cost of "that bolt/nut" coming loose.
cross threading is under-rated.
