In 1984, instead of trailering their cars from a storage facility to the track, Porsche thought, “It’s not far… let’s just drive them” and proceeded to drive their three 956 racers down Melbourne’s Dandenong Rd to the track.
They ended up taking pole position, and finished 1st, 2nd, & 8th, in the Australian World Endurance Championship
