Well I may have figured it out. I forgot that this van has rear heat and air so on my drive home I turned on the heat for the front as well as the rear and after a while of driving the temp stayed in the middle. I don't know how the rear heat works but maybe there is a heater core for the rear, I dunno, but is all good now. Yay!!!
