The Pallophotophone/Photophone, a device for recording and reproducing sound on moving picture films has been perfected by C. A. Hoxie of the General engineering Laboratory of the General electric Company. A standard motion picture camera equipped with a synchronous motor is operated in conjunction with a sound recorder also equipped with a synchronous motor and the sound of either voice or music is recorded on the film. The two records are then placed on a single film and the result is the talking movie. 1922
