What is always so annoying is the planning before the project is always pitiful. They put out cones, destroy the road, dig holes, and then sit and wait for something like the new storm drain pipes, or a utility line to be moved. So often in large projects, they get it all torn up, and then sit and wait on something for a month or more.
And bet money within a few months for the project completion, someone will be digging a hole in the new road and do a crappy job of patching so that it is s huge bump for the next 15 or 20 years.
I swear they have two brothers doing the work, and they then have to move to another project and start on that, and only come bake to the big project every other week for a few days.
