Nor did the Polish Cipher Bureau get the credit for breaking Enigma to begin with. They started their work as early as 1928 and were reading German code from 1932. They turned over their methods to the British and French 5 weeks before the Germans invaded Poland. If you follow what happened to them it is tragic that they did not receive the recognition that quite possibly put the nail in Reich's coffin. Same crap happened to the Polish flyers in the RAF. After all, the west did not want to piss off Uncle Joe. Turing did not break nor develop the methods to break Enigma, he merely used the Poles' methods to keep up with the changes.
