I've never been very afraid of much of anything. I've done lots of things during my life to feel like I've not missed out on too much. I still get up on ladders, roofs, trees, etc. My balance and reactions are still pretty good for being pretty old. I think tumbling and gymnastics as a young person have given me enough muscle memory to do OK. The thing I don't fear but regret is the prospect of all the things associated with age that limit a person. I regret the fact that when you get old enough, you're basically out of the game. You can't get faster, better, back into shape like you used to, your ability to do new things is severly curtailed, and you just have to seemingly concentrate on preserving what you have - which is a downhill fight. I guess you could say I'm afraid of those prospects.
